Cardboard Arm Sling

This project was an Engineering Innovation project. Small groups were instructed to create a product out of cardboard to be used in disaster areas. The product must be flat-packable and at max use two sheets of 60x44in cardboard or cardstock.

Initial sketches and ideas for the arm sling. We sourced measurements from several different arm sling manufactures, and decided to incorporate that into our design. We also measured our teacher and classmates to confirm the range. The final design has marks that can be cut to resize the sling for all arm sizes, and the strap was designed to be adjustable.
